What is your name?

Hi, my name is Debbie.

Describe yourself in 3 to 5 words.

Caring, kind, friendly.

How did you discover your skin cancer / melanoma / skin condition and how long ago?

I discovered my skin problem through my rheumatoid arthritis which was diagnosed about 8 months ago. Unfortunately the medication I'm on does not react well with the sun and it caused red itchy rashes on my hands and very itchy skin on my arms.

What is your attitude towards sun protection today?

I have always been a person that stays out the sun and I don't like to be burnt.

What would you tell your 16-year-old self about sun protection?

All over tan has never worried me even from a child. I suppose if we new back then what we know now things would be a lot better.

I would tell myself to always cover up and protect against the sun.
